A quiz's answer key (including alternate answers, question tags, and point values) can be imported and/or exported as a CSV file. This "Import/Export Keys" button can be found near the top of the "Edit Key" screen within each quiz - clicking the button will open up the import/export page for that quiz with additional instructions and options.
To access the “Import/Export Keys” feature:
- Log into your ZipGrade account on the zipgrade.com website.
- Go to the “Quizzes” page.
- Click the blue, linked quiz name that contains the answer key that you want to export. This will open that quiz’s detail page.
- In the “Answer Key” section, click the “Edit Answer Keys” button.
- Find and click the “Import/Export Keys” button near the top right.
Note: Click “Which Key Export/Import Method to Use?” at the top of the “Import/Export Keys” page to review the different options for sharing/importing quiz and key definitions.
Export Keys
Click the “Export All Keys to CSV” button on that “Import/Export Keys” page to start the download of the CSV file for that quiz.

- Find the “Select CSV file:” section on that “Import/Export Keys” page.
- Click the “Choose File” button.
- Select your CSV import file in the dialog box and click “Open”.
- Click the “Import All Keys from CSV” button to complete the import.
Additional Notes:
- Importing the CSV file will first remove all existing quiz keys once the imported CSV file has been validated.
